Rob Brainin is a global life sciences and healthcare executive with over twenty years of industry experience, with a strong focus on genomics and innovation. He currently serves as the CEO of WuXi NextCODE. In prior work experiences, Rob served as a General Manager across a variety of life sciences areas during his roles with Illumina, Life Technologies, Invitrogen, and Thermo Fisher.

His ambition is to optimize genomic technologies and information into real-life solutions, which has current and developing potential applications within healthcare. As health care systems, clinicians, researchers, therapeutic developers, foundations, patient families, and individuals seek to improve areas of genomic understanding, Rob seeks to help them take complex genomic information and make it actionable in a meaningful way.

He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Children’s Tumor Foundation, a foundation focused on driving research and seeking cures for Neurofibromatosis, a rare genetic disease that impacts 1 in 3,000 people, including his own daughter. Rob holds an undergraduate degree in Economics (with honors) from Emory University and a J.D. (cum laude) from Harvard Law School.

Olav Kjørven is Chief Strategic Officer at EAT Foundation. In this role, Olav is part of EAT’s Senior Leadership team and provides strategic oversight to EAT’s policy work, leads engagement on global policy arenas, and guides EAT’s science and knowledge initiatives for maximum impact on food systems policies and practices.

Olav’s career spans political leadership roles for Norwegian development cooperation and several senior leadership posts at the United Nations. He led the Bureau for Development Policy of the United Nations Development Program for almost seven years, overseeing an international staff of some 360, programs delivering in the hundreds of millions every year, and policy work ranging from democratic governance to climate change. Throughout his career Olav has pursued every opportunity to increase global focus and commitment to sustainable development. This culminated in him playing a central role in the complex and highly political process that led to Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals in 2015, including organizing the largest global consultation ever undertaken by the UN with millions of people engaged. Since then, it has been about mobilizing for action–at the UN, with governments, the private sector and civil society—and with a focus on children as Olav led UNICEF’s Division for Public Partnerships for the last three years.

Olav’s is widely recognized as a senior leader in sustainable development spanning 25 years. He is on the Board of Directors of the prestigious EARTH University in Costa Rica and on the Advisory Board for the Business for Peace Foundation and Initiative. He instigated and set up the Commission on the Legal Empowerment of the Poor, which produced its groundbreaking report “Making the Law Work for Everyone” in 2008, served as the UN Secretary General’s coordinator for the UN’s engagement in development with the G20, and co-led the UN system’s Task Team on the Post-2015 Development Agenda.

Olav holds a Master’s Degree in International Affairs from the George Washington University and is a Norwegian national.

Mr. Lee Yuansiong is a leader in China's insurance industry. Mr. Lee worked for Monetary Authority of Singapore, Prudential Group, CITIC-Prudential Life, and Ping An Life. Currently, he is the deputy CEO, executive director, and chief insurance business officer of Ping An Insurance (Group).

As a leader in the Chinese insurance market, Ping An ranks 16th on the Forbes Global 2000 list and 1st among global insurance conglomerates. Mr. Lee is in charge of seven insurance and healthcare subsidiaries of Ping An Group. Among these subsidiaries, Ping An Life and Ping An Property & Casualty are China’s second largest life insurer and P&C insurer respectively, Ping An Annuity is China’s first specialized pension insurer, and Ping An Health is China’s leading high-end health insurer. Ping An Good Doctor is the biggest leader in China online Healthcare Industry.

Mr. Lee has been a transformation leader for products, services, technologies, and business models. He filled a blank in China’s life insurance product system in 2004 by introducing universal life insurance. He disrupted the design philosophy of traditional insurance products in China by pioneering the integration of health management and insurance. In 2010, Mr. Lee created China’s first computerized platform for mobile one-stop insurance sales, services and management. Since 2016, he has pursued deep integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and insurance business in a forward-looking manner, applied AI to channel management, customer services and risk management, and drove China’s insurance industry to become smarter. He has built an innovative private health care ecosystem, in which over 200 million people receive consultation services online, and nearly 10,000 hospitals and clinics provide health care services offline. Commercial insurance companies can reengineer their pricing, operating and risk management approaches by leveraging the medical big data, cost control capability, health forecasting models and health management services in the ecosystem.

Mary Ann Tsao is the Chairman and Founding Director of the Tsao Foundation, a Singapore-based - but regionally oriented - non-profit operational foundation dedicated to aged care and ageing issues. Previously, she was also its CEO and President.

Tsao Foundation aims to address issues of population ageing, promote successful ageing and enhance wellbeing of older people at policy and practice levels by catalysing constructive change.

Dr Tsao serves on numerous boards and committees of government and non-profit organizations in Singapore as well as internationally. For her work on ageing, she received the Public Service Medal (PBM) in 2000, Public Service Star (BBM) in 2004, and Public Service Star (Bar) in 2015 from the government of Singapore.

Dr Tsao has also worked with numerous multilateral agencies, such as World Health Organization (WHO) Geneva office’s Ageing and Life Course unit, and has been a resource person and technical advisor to other UN agencies, such as UNESCAP (United Nations Economic and Social Commission for the Asia Pacific) and the ASEAN Secretariat.

A member of a business family, Dr Tsao is also involved with FBNA (Family Business Network Asia) as a Board Director as well as various family business and non-profit projects.

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Dr Tsao is a US trained physician with a public health background, specializing in community and primary care planning and social medicine. She has extensive experience working with disadvantaged communities in the US and Singapore.

Danny Yeung serves as Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder for Prenetics Group, a leading genetics-enabled digital health company headquartered in Hong Kong with offices in the U.K., Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and in Philippines. In just a little more than 3 years, Prenetics has grown to a team of 120+ and has raised more than USD 50 million in funding from the likes of Ping An & Alibaba, making it one of the most well-funded health technology start-ups globally.

Prior to Prenetics, Danny was Founding Partner at SXE Ventures having led multiple investments in genetic testing companies. Danny had also founded uBuyiBuy in 2010 which was acquired by Groupon. Prior to Danny leaving Groupon in early 2014, Danny served as CEO of Groupon East Asia leading a team of over 300 with annual revenues in excess of USD 130 million. Danny’s entrepreneurial journey started at the age of 25 when he ventured into franchising Hong Kong dessert chain Hui Lau Shan into USA. After exiting Hui Lau Shan, Danny successfully ventured into hospitality furniture and executed multi-million dollar projects with MGM City Center. Danny received his BS in MIS from the University of San Francisco. Danny’s life motto is “Play Hard, Work Harder”.

Professor Teo Yik Ying is Dean of the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, National University of Singapore, and concurrently the iOmics Programme Leader at the Life Sciences Institute, and an Associate Faculty Member of the Genome Institute of Singapore.

Prof Teo majored in statistical genetics, having completed his doctoral training at the University of Oxford after obtaining a Distinction for his Masters in Applied Statistics at Oxford and graduating top of the cohort for in the Bachelor programme in Mathematics at Imperial College, UK. He pursued his postdoctoral training with the Wellcome Trust Center for Human Genetics, where he was concurrently appointed as a Lecturer at the Statistics Department in Oxford University.

A keen researcher by nature, Prof Teo has gained international recognition for his work in genomics, where his focus is in the development and application of mathematical and statistical techniques to understand the genetic causes of human diseases and genetic evolution in worldwide populations. He has conducted large scale genomic studies on populations from Africa, Europe and Asia, and currently chairs an international consortium investigating the genetic diversity of cosmopolitan and indigenous populations in Asia.

Prof Teo has served as the Director for the Centre for Infectious Disease Epidemiology and Research, where the Centre works closely with the Ministry of Defence to develop capabilities for disease surveillance, consultation and research to deter and to control potential infectious disease outbreaks. He was also the Founding Director for the Centre for Health Services and Policy Research, which approaches systems-level healthcare issues from a multidisciplinary perspective, connecting healthcare workers, patients, researchers, policy- and decision-makers to tackle complex themes in the fast-changing nature of health services delivery.

For his contributions and achievements to academic and public health, Prof Teo was the recipient of numerous awards, including the Singapore Youth Award (2011), the Young Scientist Award by the Singapore National Academy of Science (2010), the NUHS-Mochtar Riady Pinnacle Young Achiever Award (2015), and the Outstanding Young Persons of the World award in the category of Academic Leadership and Achievements (2015). He was also conferred numerous scholarships during his education, including the Public Service Commission scholarship (1997), the Shell Centenary Scholarship (2000), the Lee Kuan Yew Postgraduate Scholarship (2003) and the NUS Overseas Graduate Scholarship (2003). Growing up in a family of educators, Prof Teo is both a passionate and exceptional educator, and has won numerous faculty and university awards for teaching excellence from both NUS and Oxford.
