Yeo Pei Shan

Co-founder
UglyFood

Pei Shan is a co-founder of UglyFood – a Singapore-based project with the aim of reducing food waste by educating on how to ensure that ugly food is safe to consume, and ways in which it can be transformed delicious and nutritious dishes. Under this initiative, Pei Shan has challenged the status quo of food waste in Singapore. She spearheaded the procuring and selling of fruits and vegetables that were cosmetically damaged, or 'ugly', to be used as raw ingredients for various dishes.

To date, UglyFood has collectively sold a total of up to 120 tonnes of 'ugly' food. She has since left the company but is continuing with educating and championing the upcycling of food waste. Together with Andrew Sin, who is new to the sustainability scene but has a wealth of culinary experience under his belt, she continues to inspire people to maximise the value of food resources and make sustainable choices.
