Dr Sri has been a Senior Principal Investigator with Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory Ltd (TLL) since 2002. At TLL, his lab focuses on various aspects of plant biotechnology research to sustainably increase the yield and stress tolerance of plants like Jatropha, a low-cost biodiesel feedstock, rice and leafy vegetables.

Dr Sri was concurrently Chief Technology Officer at JOil Pvt. Ltd. from 2008 to 2021 where he spearheaded a breeding programme for the development of commercial Jatropha varieties. Dr Sri also headed JOil's Africa expansion, including the establishment of its first commercial scale Jatropha project in Ghana where he successfully and sustainably transformed marginal lands into viable Jatropha plantations involving both captive and outgrower plantations.

Prior to joining TLL, Dr Sri was with the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology and later the Institute of Molecular Agrobiology, Singapore, where he headed its Rice Functional Genomics programme. Dr Sri obtained his PhD in Biochemistry from University of Idaho, USA.
