Avrom (Avi) Salsberg leads the North APAC Geo Product Partnerships team and Geo Sustainability partnerships globally. These include scaling initiatives for Google’s Environmental Insights Explorer, which enables cities to better understand carbon emission profiles from buildings and transportation, and mitigation options such as solar potential.

Avi came to Japan in 1994. He joined Google Japan in 2018, before which, he represented British Columbia (BC), Canada in Japan from 2007 to 2018, driving technology partnerships, trade & investment, and BC’s priority sectors, including sustainable technologies. Avi has also served as technology partnerships officer at the Embassy of Canada from 2000 to 2007, and led business development for a small technical translation start-up in Tokyo from 1995 to 1999.

Avi holds an M.Sc. in Kinesiology from University of Waterloo, Canada, and B.Sc. in Human Kinetics from University of Guelph, Canada.
