Amita Chaudhury is the Group Head of Sustainability at AIA, the largest pan-Asian life insurance group, where she is responsible for overseeing the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy and driving organisation-wide efforts to embed ESG into business operations and culture. She is the Vice-Chair of the Board of the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) Principles of Sustainable Insurance. 

Amita has 20+ years of experience working in local, regional, and global roles in India, Singapore, London, and New York, of which the last 13 years were in sustainability. Prior to AIA, she spent 11 years at Unilever as Global Diversity & Inclusion Director and Head of Sustainable Business for Southeast Asia & Australasia, and was seconded from Unilever to the United Nations Global Compact for a year.

In 2018, Amita was recognised by the World Business Council of Sustainable Development as a “Leading Women in Sustainability”. She is on the Executive Committee of Singapore Sustainable Finance Association and Advisory Committee of Climate Governance Initiative (Hong Kong chapter), and was a member of the Expert Advisory Group Member with Science Based Targets Initiative from 2022-2024.
