Highlights from Ecosperity Week 2025

There is no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to Asia’s journey towards net zero. Only through unified ambition, collective action and convicted leadership, can we overcome the barriers before us and truly unlock progress

Mr Lim Boon Heng, Chairman, Temasek Holdings, at Ecosperity Week 2025 Opening Address

Presented by Temasek, Ecosperity Week 2025 took place on 5 – 8 May in Singapore. 6 May was centred on decarbonisation solutions and pathways, whereas 7 May was anchored by the Financing Asia's Transition (FAST) Conference, jointly organised by BlackRock, the Monetary Authority of Singapore and Temasek.

The event convened more than 40 speakers to stocktake where Asia stands in terms of meeting its 2030 decarbonisation goals, identify strategic areas of systems-level change the region requires, explore viable decarbonisation pathways to 2030 and make the case for developing resource and community resilience. The Ecosperity Action Hub made a comeback at Ecosperity Week 2025, complementing the main plenary sessions.

Ecosperity Week 2025 also featured a line-up of partner events ranging from focused roundtables and workshops to pitch sessions and multi-day panel discussions. The Week's events drew over 4,000 participants in-person and online from around the world.

Conference Highlights

On 6 May, the day kicked off with a conference opening video that reminded attendees that Asia is a mere 5 years away from delivering on its 2030 targets. It urged collective and immediate action - All Systems Go – in order to prevent the worst effects of climate change for the region.

Discussions brought together global leaders to explore the systems-level shifts needed for a just, green transition and to chart Asia’s path to net-zero by 2030. Key themes from the day included public–private system-level alignment, developing interconnected solutions for a green economy, closing the investability gap to scale startups, diversifying energy futures in Asia, building high-integrity carbon markets in the region, and embedding resilience across infrastructure, supply chains, and food–water systems.

Launched at Ecosperity Week 2025, the Southeast Asia's Green Economy 2025 Report: Unlocking Systems for Growth and Impact, jointly produced by a collaboration between Bain & Company, GenZero, Google, Standard Chartered Bank and Temasek, explored how SEA can move into the next chapter of its green transition-one where decarbonisation unlocks value through economic competitiveness, job growth, and long-term energy security.

The report called for a systems-based approach to solve interconnected challenges across power, transport, and land use. To make the report actionable for leaders, it also identified three high- impact solutions:

  • Scaling the sustainable bioeconomy
  • Modernising domestic and regional grids
  • Accelerating the electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem.

On 7 May, The Financing Asia’s Transition Conference, co-organised by BlackRock, Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), and Temasek, centred on the financial systems, governance frameworks, and cross-sector coordination to drive Asia’s low-carbon transition.

Speakers talked about maintaining long-termism amid short-term uncertainty, looking at regional cooperation as a source of strength, strategic steps to accelerate Asia’s green transition, investable opportunities in the Climate Adaptation & Resilience space, as well as the urgent shift from negotiations to implementation.

Jointly produced by BCG and Temasek and launched in tandem with day 2 of the conference, the ‘The Private Equity Opportunity in Climate Adaptation and Resilience’ report introduces BCG’s Climate Adaptation and Resilience Investment Opportunity Map that is designed to systematically guide investors through the Climate A&R space by identifying and structuring the universe of opportunity areas. The report includes six sectoral deep dives that examine the market dynamics sought after by private equity investors and highlights investable opportunities for investors.
