Mr Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala is the Chairman and CEO of Ayala Corporation, one of the largest business groups in the Philippines. Ayala has interests in real estate, banking, telecommunications, water, power, industrial technologies, infrastructure, education, and healthcare.

Apart from his responsibilities on the boards of the Ayala group companies, Mr Zobel is a member of various international and local business and socio-civic organizations, including the JP Morgan International Council and the Mitsubishi Corporation International Advisory Committee. He is also Chairman of the Harvard Business School Asia-Pacific Advisory Board; the SMU Advisory Council in the Philippines, and Endeavor Philippines; and a member of the Harvard Global Advisory Council, the Global Board of Advisors of the Council on Foreign Relations, the Asia Society International Council, the University of Tokyo Global Advisory Board, and the board of trustees of the Eisenhower Fellowships, Singapore Management University, Children’s Hour Philippines, and the Ramon Magsaysay Awards Foundation. He was a former Chairman of the Asia Business Council, Ramon Magsaysay Foundation, and the World Wildlife Fund Philippine Advisory Council. He was also the Philippine Representative to the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Business Advisory Council from 2010-2015.

In 2007, he received the Harvard Business School Alumni Achievement Award, the school’s highest recognition. Mr Zobel is a 2009 recipient of the Presidential Medal of Merit for enhancing the prestige and honor of the Philippines both at home and abroad. In 2010, he was bestowed the Philippine Legion of Honor, with rank of Grand Commander, for his outstanding public service to the country. In 2015, he then received the Order of Mabini, with rank of Commander, for his vital contributions during the Philippines’ hosting of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit. In 2017, he was recognized as a United Nations SDG Pioneer for his work in sustainable business strategy and operations. The first SDG Pioneer from the Philippines, he was one of ten individuals recognized for championing sustainability and the pursuit of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals in business.

Mr Zobel graduated with a B.A. in Economics (Cum Laude) from Harvard College in 1981 and received his MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration in 1987. He is married to Elizabeth Eder Zobel de Ayala and has four children.
