As a growing Asia transitions towards a low-carbon economy, the region faces a dual energy challenge: meet rapidly rising electricity demand using renewables while addressing energy intermittency. The International Energy Agency (IEA) projects that global electricity consumption is to rise at its fastest pace in recent years, growing at close to 4% annually through 2027, faster than any other region. This surge in demand underscores the urgent need to build a robust low-carbon energy ecosystem, including generation, storage, and transportation technologies.
