Financing Southeast Asia’s Next Generation of Infrastructure

Sustainable infrastructure financing discussions have largely focused on one question since the Paris Agreement: How do we mobilise more capital? Blended finance, innovative financing mechanisms and policy reforms have shaped the past decade of sustainable infrastructure, enabling roughly 1-5% of financing directly, but influencing a much larger share indirectly through taxonomies, disclosure rules, and market signals.

With rising geopolitical plurality, and a 2.4°C world in 2100 as a plausible new reality, the world is entering a new era of infrastructure investment. Beyond the 'how', we need to ask  'where' and 'what' — where does this capital go, and what does it build? Using digital infrastructure in Southeast Asia as a case study, this discussion will explore how finance can shape resilient, resource-efficient, and future-ready infrastructure.

Building Resilient Supply Chains in Southeast Asia

in partnership with PwC

Amid growing geopolitical volatility and climate vulnerability, resilient and sustainable supply chains are a strategic imperative for Southeast Asia's decarbonisation and economic competitiveness. This session examines two of the region's supply chains in different stages of maturity: the established agri-food sector, and the fast-emerging AI and digital infrastructure sector. We first make the case for why climate and sustainability risks belong at the core of supply chain risk assessment, introducing a diagnostic tool for identifying and managing these risks. We then explore how these lessons translate across sectors, where physical and transition risks, including low-carbon energy demand and water stress, are defining sustainability challenges today.

Low-carbon and Resilient Cities for People and the Environment

by Centre for Liveable Cities (CLC) in collaboration with Ecosperity

Cities and the built environment face climate and transition risks, yet they are hubs where innovative solutions can be scaled. Drawing on examples in Southeast Asia and globally, this session explores cities and the built environment as both a risk-proofing priority against climate impacts and resource constraints, and an investment opportunity for resilient and regenerative urban development. Panellists will discuss financeable solutions that protect asset value, lower embodied and operational carbon emissions, and strengthen urban resilience, and examine how gaps in data, standards, and delivery capacity across Southeast Asia can be addressed.
