Akanksha Khatri is Head of Nature and Biodiversity at the World Economic Forum. In this role, she led the creation of the New Nature Economy Report (NNER) series that set forth a pathway for businesses to play an active role in safeguarding nature. The reports identified that over half of the world’s GDP is moderately or highly dependent on nature and its services, and moving to nature-positive business models can create USD10.1 trillion of business opportunities and 395 million jobs. In addition to the NNER series, Akanksha also leads the WEF work on catalysing a momentum (particularly business and non-state actors) on nature, at UN Biodiversity Conference (CBD COP15) but also across other key milestone events.   

Prior to this, she worked as Chief of Staff and Head of Strategy for WEF Government Engagement. She also has experience working as Strategy Manager at HT Media Ltd. which is the second largest media company in India. She holds a BA (Hons.) from Jawaharlal Nehru University, India and M.A. in International Affairs from SIPA, Columbia University, USA. She was a Global Leadership Fellow with the World Economic Forum (2013-16).
